Living and working in Berlin
Berlin, the capital of Germany with a population of about 3.5 million, has considerable potentials and offers attractive terms for living and working, especially for young people.
Berlin as a magnet for European relations is sied in the centre of an expanding European Union.
Berlin is well known for its intercultural diversity, its wide range of leisure and cultural facilities, its exiting history and also its large number of monuments of past eras and its charming surroundings.

Work placements
are training opportunities in enterprises in different economic sectors in Berlin for young employees, trainees and students from European countries. The offer: work placements for one year in Berlin!

The placement
For many years Intervista e.V. has developed good contacts with enterprises and institutions in different sectors and can offer a wide range of suitable work placements. Of course, the participants’ expectations, preferences and abilities have to correspond with the enterprises’ requirements.

Language, culture and orientation in Berlin
If required, a special language course can be integrated in the work placement: the training of job-related terminologies and of everyday language phrases.
It is also possible to attend a language course at the beginning of your stay in Berlin: the trainees will be guided on their first steps through the city; they will be supported to get familiar with the public transport system and will be introduced to the cultural life in Berlin. The trainees will come into contact with Berliners and get acquainted with their characteristics.

Coaching and evaluation
If necessary, the Intervista staff will help to solve conflicts during the work placement. If the work placement is unsuitable we’ll find an alternative.
Questions concerning the job or everyday life will be discussed face-to face. At regular intervals interim evaluations will take place: the trainees assess their working and learning progress, they express their wishes and the enterprises will also be interviewed. Thus, changes in the work placement can be made. At the end of the work placement an evaluation will sum up the results.

Certificates
The enterprise will certify the work placement: the trainee’s newly acquired qualifications and competencies.
InterVista e.V. will certify the trainee’s participation in the work placement.

Accommodation
Apartments for single persons or 2 – 3 persons ca be offered. This depends on the trainee’s needs and finances.

Conditions
At least 6 weeks before the start of the vacation in Berlin each trainee may send his CV and motivation letter in German or English via e-mail to Intervista eV in order to determine what languages, what professional experience or practical knowledge and skills are present, what special interests in practical work should be considered in order to find the right internship for the companies and a reasonable placement. With each trainee a written contract is completed. A contractual agreement between the trainee, company and Intervista eV governs the conditions for the implementation of the internship.
